Office Administrator (Pupil Referral Units)

Hours: 36 hours per week Monday to Friday, term time only

We are seeking to appoint an Office Administrator to work in the busy Business Support office within The Clifton Centre.

You will provide a range of administrative and finance support to the Head of Centre and School Business Manager, under the direction of the School Business Manager.

You will need to be able to remain calm and positive in challenging circumstances and be able to relate well to students and adults. The successful candidate will be flexible, organised, reliable, enthusiastic, able to work independently and as part of a team.

You will be responsible for undertaking a variety of general administration duties in support of the activities of the school including dealing with the schools financial transactions, supporting the Exams Officer with exams admin, supporting the Attendance Officer with attendance, assisting with the administration of admissions and school trips, and other general administrative support.

In addition, you will spend some of your time working on a busy reception: welcoming visitors to the school, taking phone calls and messages and responding to telephone, email and face to face enquiries from parents, staff, pupils and visitors.

You should:

• Possess excellent communication skills, being able to communicate at all levels.
• Be able to deliver a high standard of customer service
• Be able to prioritise workload, multi-task and keep calm under pressure
• Be pro-active with the ability to act on your own initiative
• Have excellent IT skills with a good knowledge of Microsoft Office. Knowledge of SIMS would be an advantage.
• Be able to present a professional yet welcoming and friendly persona to visitors
• Have the ability to work on your own and as part of a team in a busy school environment.
• Experience of a financial role is essential, school finance would be desirable but not essential.
