Working Hours: Full time, 36 hours per week, including one weekend
in four.
Location: Salford Museum & Art Gallery and Ordsall Hall,
with some opportunity to work from home
Contract: Permanent, full time

We have an exciting new position
available for a Learning & Engagement Manager, who will
be pivotal developing and delivering our ambitions for our museums as places of
learning and inspiration. You will be responsible for high-quality
projects, partnerships and programmes of activity, bringing your rich
experience of cultural learning to take an active role in engaging with
learners of all ages and backgrounds. The post
sits within Salford Museums’ Learning and Engagement Team, and also includes line
management duties, some operational duties, and budget management and
reporting responsibility.
This role will be based across both our sites:
· Salford Museum
& Art Gallery, a Grade 2 listed Victorian museum, with a well-loved 1897
street, Lark Hill Place, as well as permanent and changing exhibition spaces
that host a lively events and learning programme.
· Ordsall Hall,
Salford’s ‘jewel in the crown,’ a Grade 1 listed Tudor mansion house that is
surrounded by 2 acres of gardens. Ordsall Hall operates as an engaging heritage
site that is open to the public all year round.
· The post-holder
will also have some opportunity to work from home, and will be
asked to work one weekend in four, for which time back is arranged.
We are looking for someone who:
· Has excellent and
demonstrable experience of working in a learning role within the cultural
sector.
· Is experienced in
developing and delivering formal and informal learning programmes to a wide
range of learners
· Is able to create
and maintain strong partnerships
· Has a passion for
museums and bringing their collections to life for audiences.
· Has experience of
managing a team and has excellent communication and people skills
· Is proactive and
solutions-driven
· Is able to keep accurate records and monitor
performance
· Can take an operational role on site as and when
required
· Consistently
demonstrates SCL’s behaviours, with a can-do attitude and positive approach to
working as a team.
