An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Community Health Development Worker to work as a key member of the Health Improvement Service.

The role will involve:

• Developing trusting partnerships with local people and organisations to encourage participation in a variety of initiatives
• Raising awareness of healthy lifestyles and supporting people into health and wellbeing activities
• Planning and delivering a range of health related projects, programmes, events and activities
• Supporting community groups to access funding opportunities and to become independent using community development principles and practice

We are looking for a hardworking and committed individual with a flexible focussed approach to their work, who is a team player and can communicate with colleagues and members of the public at all levels in a professional and courteous manner. You will have a key role within the service to lead on the development and implementation of a broad portfolio of community development projects to improve health and address health inequalities in Salford. You will need excellent organisational and communication skills, and experience of working in a community development role. You will have the opportunity to build partnerships and networks with local service providers and organisations, and to provide support to other members of the neighbourhood Health Improvement team.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check – currently £44.00. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £11.00 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £44.00.
