Bereavement Services Apprentice
Starting Salary: £15,410 per annum
Grade: Apprentice
Working Hours: 36 hours per week
Contract Type: Initially 12 month fixed term

An exciting and unique opportunity has arisen for a Bereavement Services Apprentice to work across the Salford City Council Bereavement Services. The role will involve providing effective and efficient support to all service customers.
The key criteria for the role are:
• To be able to demonstrate empathy and sympathy throughout their work and dealings with the bereaved and third parties, whilst being able to differentiate between the two and applying that which is most appropriate in each situation.
• To ensure the highest standard of detail throughout all administrative undertakings.
• To be a self starter with a ‘can do’ attitude within a service that can be both challenging and rewarding and be prepared to learn all aspects of the business.
• To bring to colleagues attention any anomalies appearing in the diary, registers or produced paperwork of the service.
• To ensure all work carried out meets current legislation and recommended practices.
• To promote a good working relationship with colleagues, customers and third parties.
• To have the ability to learn/undertake all aspects of the grave digging grounds maintenance elements of the service.
• To have the ability of learn/undertake all aspects of the cremation element of the service.
We are looking for a hardworking and committed individual with a flexible and focused approach to their work, who is a team player and can communicate with colleagues and members of the public at all levels in a professional and courteous manner.
