Part of the Chatsworth Multi Academy Trust, Chatsworth High School and Community College, is a progressive, vibrant and successful special school with 141 students aged between 11 and 19 years and is continuing to increase in numbers. Our students present a broad range of learning needs including severe learning difficulties, profound and multiple learning difficulties and autism. The school was inspected by Ofsted in September 2019 and was judged to be outstanding in all areas. 

We are looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated Teacher who is able to support students with a broad range of special educational needs including autism, SLD, PMLD. The post is required for January 2021, or as soon as possible after this date. The candidate will have pastoral responsibility for a class group and will teach other pupils across the school 

The successful candidate will be:
  • A dedicated and skilled professional with a clear pupil-centred focus
  • Aspirational and highly committed to improving the learning attainments and lives of pupils with special educational needs including autism, SLD, PMLD
  • Experience of working with pupils with special educational needs including autism, SLD, PMLD and autism, some of whom may display challenging behaviour
  • Experience of delivering a core subject to pupils with special educational needs including autism, SLD, PMLD 
  • Able to provide pastoral support for a designated group of students
  • A robust and resilient practitioner able to perform in a dynamic and challenging environment
