Bereavement Services Officer
Working Hours
: 36 hours per week
Grade: 3B £26,470 - £29,055
Contract Type: Permanent

We are looking an enthusiastic and diligent individual to join our award winning team and to assist the Bereavement Services Manager in delivering the highest standards of service to our City and customers. You will support the Bereavement Services Manager with the day to day operational delivery and management of all aspects of our Bereavement Service ensuring that all relevant legislative needs are met and being responsible for the supervision of our administrative and operational delivery teams.

Applicants must have excellent people and management skills, experience of burial and cremation procedures and the ability to supervise, develop and motivate staff. Previous experience of working in a Bereavement Services environment is an essential element of this role in addition to a commitment to continued professional development.

This is an extremely busy and demanding service area and applicants must have experience of dealing with members of the bereaved public in a dignified manner and uphold our expectations in relation to delivering the City Councils core values and providing excellent customer service at all times.

This is an ambitious service area and you will need to be flexible in your approach, working across different projects across our Cemeteries and Crematoria whilst also liaising with Funeral Directors, Stone Masons, Clergy, Medical Referees and our ‘community’ partners including Friends groups, event organisers, Neighbourhood Managers etc.
