About us
This is Salford’s time. Salford is transforming into a modern global city and this is underpinned by our clear vision to create a better fairer Salford and provide the best quality of life for the people of the City.
Salford has the fastest growing economy in Greater Manchester with GVA up 22% contributing £5bn to the regional economy. And that figure is set to double, topping £10bn in the next decade. The city’s employment levels are set to increase by 16% in the next 20 years, which is on the back of our business base more than doubling since 2010. This is reflected by the sheer scale of development taking place including the expansion of MediaCityUK, which is set to double in size; Port Salford, the UK’s first tri-modal Port; new neighbourhoods including Greengate, Chapel street, New Bailey and Middlewood Locks as well as the site of the Royal Horticultural Society’s 5th garden.

About you
You will have extensive knowledge and experience of working in policy development within Local Government, working with a wide range of stakeholders and will represent Salford in the development of planning work at a Greater Manchester level.
You will be technically qualified to degree level and be professionally qualified from RTPI or equivalent with extensive practical application of knowledge post professional qualification.
