The Family Practitioners team is a great place to work if you are passionate about improving outcomes for children and young people and their families in Salford. We currently have an exciting vacancy as a Family Practitioner within our busy team delivering Salford City Council’s statutory responsibility for the assessment, support and intervention for children and families on Child in Need and Child Protection Plans.

The team is responsible for the delivery of the Local Authority’s statutory duties in relation to safeguarding and supporting children and families who have social workers. Working closely with parents, social workers and other professionals from schools, health services and social care, the team ensure that families are supported with achieving complex behavioural change and positive outcomes for children and families in Salford.

The Family Practitioners team deliver support and intervention to support families to achieve their vision and goals, help them to connect with positive support networks in their community, assess and manage risk independently, and develop their problem solving skills, emotional intelligence and communication. We want every child and young person to have the fullest opportunity to be happy, healthy and achieve their full potential.

About the role
As a Family Practitioner, you will be responsible for supporting social workers with delivering intervention as part of Child in Need and Child Protection Plans. You will hold a caseload, attend at meetings and reviews as necessary, and support the service by being part of a duty rota.

You will need the ability to travel across Salford and Greater Manchester area either through use of a vehicle insured for business use or using public transport.
