Urban Vision is a Joint Venture Partnership between Capita, Salford City Council and Galliford Try. We are based in Swinton, within the Salford district of Greater Manchester employing approximately 360 staff in a wide range of integrated professional support services solutions. Capabilities include a full range of property surveying and management disciplines, full design and cost control services, extensive highways and civil engineering design capability plus town planning, development control and policy services.

Our key client is Salford City Council although we have expanded our client base to a number of other clients and commissions both within the North West and nationally.

We currently have an exciting vacancy within our team to enable us to continue to build on our success and also bring new experience, knowledge and ideas into the team.

You will have a minimum of 3 years post qualification experience in the design, implementation and supervision of all aspects, in highway design.
You will possess or be working towards a Bachelors or Masters degree in Civil Engineering or a related subject accredited by the Engineering Council OR possess or be working towards a Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering or a related subject.

About the role
Urban Vision’s Engineering & Infrastructure team deliver a comprehensive design service covering all
aspects of highways, bridges, structures & landscape design on behalf of Salford City Council.

As an Assistant Engineer in the Engineering and Infrastructure team you will undertake all the technical aspects required for project delivery of highway schemes including feasibility, concept design, detailed design, preparation of tender and contract documentation, invitation of tenders and supervision of construction works on site.

You will require the ability to set and work to personal deadlines and targets to meet the requirements of programmes of work, to meet clients’ needs and to respond to targets set by others.

You will abide by the objectives and targets of both the section and the department and follow procedures and practices utilised in all aspects of the work, including computerised and manual systems and the maintenance of relevant records.
