Position: Service Manager, Safeguarding and Quality Assurance

Grade: 5C SCP 50 - 52 £45,578 - £47,333 per annum

Hours: 36 hours per week

Due to retirement an exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time post within our established Safeguarding and Quality Assurance Unit, based at Sutherland house in Swinton. We are looking to recruit a Service Manager within our Child Protection Conference and Designated Officer Service.

The Candidate

We are looking for an experienced leader who is a registered Social Worker to become part of our management team, reporting to the Head of Safeguarding and Quality Assurance.

The successful candidate will be a key member of our management team who are proud and passionate about Salford; maintaining high standards and new and innovative practice across the city. We have excellent partnership working, of which the candidate would be key to maintain and develop.

We are looking for someone who can effectively work with others and facilitate a culture of restorative, asset based practice, whilst maintaining Good standards and bringing us on the journey to outstanding.


The Role

The Service manager is responsible for the performance and impact of the Child Protection Conference chairs and Designated Officer. They will be confident in recognising and building on good practice and being able to facilitate and execute effective challenge within a restorative approach.

You will lead on elements of the SQAU business plan, including work progressing around participation and the lived experience of the child within the business of the SQAU.
 
It is likely that over the next 12 months this role will further develop, and will cross over with other elements of the SQAU business.
 
Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check – currently £44.00. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £11.00 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £44.00.
