Duty Manager – Schools’ Library Service

Salary / Grade: SCL Grade 4, £20,344 - £22,462 pro rata
Working Hours: 29 hours per week
Contract Type: Permanent

We have an exciting position available for a Duty Manager, whose role is to provide direct customer service at the Schools’ Library Service and take day-to-day responsibility for its efficient and effective operation.

This role will be based at Salford Schools’ Library Service, as part of a small team providing a service to teachers and schools. We supply termly and annual loans of books to schools, as well as providing them with advice on their school libraries, and running the Salford Children’s Book Award. There is an annual charge to schools for our service.

We are looking for someone who:
• Has experience of working under pressure in a service environment, and can provide a high level of customer service at all times
• Has a knowledge of children’s books, and can choose appropriate materials for teachers and their classes
• Can follow set procedures and routines, while supporting others to do the same
• Will support the Schools’ Library Service Co-ordinator in the successful delivery of service priorities
• Consistently demonstrates SCL’s behaviours 

Working pattern:
Monday: 8.30am – 5pm
Tuesday: 11am – 5pm
Wednesday: 1.15pm – 5pm
Thursday: 8.30am – 5pm
Friday: 8.30am – 1pm
