Mesne Lea Primary School is an inclusive, vibrant two form entry school catering for children from the ages of 3-11, with an 8 place enhanced resource provision.  At Mesne Lea, we recognise the importance of the whole child and we have high expectations for all of our pupils.  We are passionate about equipping children with the skills and qualities required to excel in life, such as resilience and managing a budget.

Our school offers an innovative curriculum which appeals to children’s needs in the 21st century, encouraging pupils to see how their learning fits with life in the real-world!   We believe that our pupils must be at the core of whatever we do, meaning that when reviewing the effectiveness of our provision, we ensure that their voice is always heard.   At Mesne Lea, we are passionate about outdoor learning and we acknowledge that regular access to this can significantly improve mental health and well-being.  

At Mesne Lea Primary School, in order to facilitate a smooth transition across key-stages, the children are organised into three phases:

Phase 1 – Nursery, Reception and Year 1
Phase 2 – Years 2 – 4
Phase 3 – Years 5 - 6

We also have an enhanced resource provision, which provides places for eight Autistic pupils, ranging from EYFS to Year 6.

The successful candidate will:

Engage the children in purposeful play and monitor behaviour
To prevent pupils from taking any action that might result in injury to themselves or other pupils
To ensure that pupils make proper use of toilets and cloakrooms
To ensure that pupils do not leave the school grounds without the permission of the Headteacher and/or the approval or knowledge of their parents
To inform the Headteacher immediately if a pupil leaves or is withdrawn from the school premises without approval
To undertake such additional duties as are reasonably commensurate with the level of this post.

We are fully committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, younger learners and vulnerable adults and we expect all staff and volunteers to share the same commitment. The above post will be subject to enhanced DBS checks and satisfactory references.
