Administrative Officer – Neighbourhoods and Communities Team

Grade 2B
Working Hours: 18
Contract Type: Temporary until 31 March 2019

An exciting secondment opportunity for an Administrative Officer has become available within the Neighbourhood and Communities Admin Team supporting the work of the Devolved Budgets Grants Service and Neighbourhood Management.

Core business hours for this post are:

Monday 8:30 – 16:30
Tuesday 8:30 – 16:30
Wednesday 8:30 12:30
However there will be a requirement for some evening working and on occasions to change your working days to meet the needs of the service.

This is a busy role and there is an expectation that the post holder is able to manage their own workload and yet work as part of a team, to ensure all the responsibilities of supporting the service are considered and acted upon within agreed timescales.

The successful candidate will have minute-taking skills, together with a proven administrative background.

Candidates must be able to demonstrate how they meet the following necessary requirements of the post in order to be shortlisted for interview:-

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Possess ability to work under pressure and show flexibility in order to meet the needs of the service.
• Excellent organisational skills including the ability to manage your own workload and meet tight deadlines.
• Possess a good understanding of the concept of positive team working and able to develop and maintain positive working relationships with the teams and partner organisations.
• Excellent customer care skills.
• Experience in Microsoft packages and ability to learn new databases.
• Excellent minute taking skills
