Supervisory experience within a school catering environment is desirable together with a high standard of food presentation and excellent customer care skills.

Possession of NVQ 2 in Catering or City and Guilds 706/2 in Catering qualification and a current Basic Hygiene certificate or willingness to obtain these qualifications is essential.

About the role
As an Assistant Cook you would work with the Cook Supervisor and other members of the catering team to provide nutritious meals for the children of Salford.

You would also be responsible for ensuring a quality catering service is maintained whilst covering for the absence of the Cook Supervisor.

Please be aware that this post is subject to a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and that you will be required to meet the cost of the DBS check – currently £44.00. The payment for this will be deducted from your first four months’ salary payments at a rate of £11.00 per month. If you do not commence employment for any reason but the DBS has been processed, you will be sent an invoice for the payment of £44.00.

Please be aware overseas checks will be required if you have lived or worked abroad continuously or in total for 3 months or more over the last 5 years, or 12 months or more over the last 10 years, whilst aged 16 or over.
