We currently have vacancies for experienced Social Workers working in our Duty and Assessment Team, Looked after Children, and Child Protection/Child in Need Team.

What you can expect from us
• All ASYE’s have 5 days external training on the Core Skills programme to support and consolidate their learning during the first part of their Assessed and Supported Year in employment.
• Social work celebration day, which brings together ASYE’s who have passed their panel, social workers who have passed their level three and social workers who have been recognised by managers and senior leadership for their good practice and contributions to social work in Salford.
• Opportunities to undertake Practice Educator course and support students and ASYE’s in order to develop good practice and continued professional development. There are opportunities to assist with Student assessment days and interviews in order to further your professional development.
• Salford has a fantastic training package, with the SSCP delivering training on a number of key topics throughout the year, seminars on specialist subject and as a Salford employee you have access to Research in Practice which includes their training and resources.
• You will be supported through regular monthly supervision, bi-monthly reflective supervision sessions giving the opportunity for reflective practice.
• Manageable caseloads. Our managers provide excellent oversight on these cases to ensure robust support.
• We offer an excellent range of benefits including, Flexible working with a standard working week of 36 hours, pension, and up to 33 days annual leave.

What are we looking for?
• Experienced qualified social workers to work within a range of teams in our service.
• HCPC/Social Work England registered.
• Knowledge of current relevant legislation and the ability to apply in practice.
• Ability to work as part of a team.
• Commitment and motivation to continuing professional development.


The salaries for our Social Work roles in Salford are:
Level 1 ASYE Grade 3B £26,999 - £29,636
Level 2 QSW Grade 3C  (professional bar applies - progression to Level 3 by portfolio and assessment) -£29,636 to £32,029 
Level 3 QSW Grade 4A £32,878 to £35,934
