Working Hours: 36 hours per week Tuesday - Saturday (Maternity Cover April-October 2020)
Location: Various (office base at Guild Hall Community Centre, Walkden M28 3AS)
Salary: Scale 3 - £18,795 - £19,945

We have an
exciting position available for an Assistant Dance Development Officer whose
role is to be responsible for the delivery of a wide range of high quality
dance sessions, events and activities as directed by the Dance Development
Officer. To assist the dance Development Officer with the co-ordination,
promotion and management of the dance programme.
This role will
be based within the Dance Development Team, classes and events will take place
at various locations across Salford. The dance team deliver a variety of
classes across Salford in a number of dance styles including, street dance and
dance and movement classes for people with a disability. Our SCL School of
Dance offers classes in Ballet, Tap, Modern Jazz and Contemporary.
We have award
winning competitors and offer our students the opportunity to take part in
exams with the IDTA, with which we have a 100% pass rate. Our students are also
given the opportunity to take part at shows and events at The Lowry Theatre.
The Dance
Development Team also provides classes for local Primary and Secondary Schools
in a variety of dance styles and specialise in tailoring classes for young
people and adults with a disability.
We are looking for someone who:
· Holds a minimum of one Associate/Diploma Level
4 teaching qualification with the IDTA or equivalent qualification with another
recognised dance governing body. Or a Dance related degree.
· Minimum
of 2yrs experience of teaching dance and movement activities in a variety of
settings to a wide population including, young people, adults and people with a
disability
· Experience
& ability to organise, develop, plan and deliver sessions according to the
needs / abilities of the participants
· Experience
of preparing groups for shows, exams and competitions.
· Ability
to work regular evenings and weekend
· Consistently
demonstrates SCL’s behaviours
