This is an exciting opportunity to work in the Regulatory Services Team. The team deals with food safety, health and safety, food borne illness, and infectious diseases, and is at the forefront dealing with the coronavirus pandemic. As such the current role will involve, outbreak control, which includes contact tracing, outbreak consequence management and enforcement, and the investigation of health and safety matters.
The successful candidate will work as part of the local outbreak control team, assisting colleagues in the Health Protection team.
We are looking for a highly organized and enthusiastic Environmental Health Officer, or candidates with experience in food safety, infectious disease control and/or health and safety. You will need to have a detailed knowledge of coronavirus legislation and guidance, as well as being competent in the aforementioned specialisms. Experience in all previously mentioned fields would be ideal.
Your communication skills must be excellent, with a commitment to customer care. You must have experience in reviewing risk assessments, and auditing/inspecting premises and processes to ensure compliance. Possess excellent negotiation and persuasion skills and experience in production and partnership working.
Ideal candidates will display the following:
- Hold a degree or diploma in Environmental Health or equivalent, registered with the Environmental Health Registration Board OR Hold an equivalent qualification allowing them to undertake a full range of interventions under the Food Law Code of Practice.
-Must have experience in enforcement, and an ability to manage their own workload.
-Experience of dealing with confidential data.
