Assistant Head Teacher

Working Pattern: Full Time with a teaching commintment
Contract Type: Permanent

Required From: 1st September 2018

The Governors, staff and children at Lewis Street Primary school are looking to appoint an experienced and outstanding practitioner as Assistant Head Teacher to share in the leadership of our muti-cultural school. All children deserve the very best and we are looking for a professional who has a passion for teaching and learning and is committed to our school values. Lewis Street has recently undergone extensive refurbishment to become a two form entry school. The school has an Executive Head teacher and works in partnership with Christ Church CE Primary School.

Purpose of the Job:

To share in the leadership and management of the school under the direction of the Executive Headteacher and the Head of School. This post includes a teaching commitment and the successful candidate will be required to lead a Phase Team (4 classes) in terms of progress and attainment.

The successful candidate will:

• Model excellent teaching and professional standards for the whole school community and that of our partner school, Christ Church CE Primary
• Promote and model the schools’ values and vision including infusing honesty and integrity into all of school life
• Develop high quality professional relationships with children, colleagues, parents and Governors
• Contribute to the development of an inspiring culture for learning across the school
• Create a stimulating, supportive, organised, interactive and informative learning environment that encourages each child to achieve his/her full potential
• Be able to play a motivational and leading role in an area that will be discussed at interview
• Have good interpersonal skills
• Have enthusiasm, energy, creativity and dynamism
