Salford is at the forefront of the transformation agenda and this has led to the formation of an Integrated Care Organisation in which both health and social care staff work for the same organisation having a shared vision, shared values and working towards shared outcomes for the people of Salford as central to its service model. This has helped us to build a national reputation for high quality health and social care services and helped us to become one of just 50 vanguard sites across the country. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) rated Salford Care Organisation as an outstanding organisation following a recent inspection.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two full time social workers to join the specialist team, providing specialist social work support to patients with Motor Neurone Disease (MND), Cerebral Palsy, Multiple Sclerosis (MS), Acquired Brain Injury (ABI patients), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI patients) and other long term Neurological Conditions has arisen in the team based at Salford Royal Hospital. As such we are inviting experienced qualified social work practitioners (at least level 2 to level 3 post qualified) to apply for these full time posts one of which is temporary until 31st July 2021 and one is permanent.

The successful candidate will join experienced and supportive Neurological Multi-Disciplinary Teams working across various wards and clinics and will gain valuable social work experience by working with this client group whose needs can be complex and challenging. The clinic work is Greater Manchester wide and provides invaluable support to people diagnosed with MND for example which may be especially beneficial art the early stages of such a diagnosis.

Ideally you will have some experience of working with this client group and of working in a hospital setting or similar.

You would receive regular social work supervision and support. If you are ready for a change and want to establish skills and knowledge that will enhance your social work career then please express an interest in this post.

Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust is committed to supporting the recruitment and retention of its Social Work staff. It is recognised by the Trust that many experienced Social Work staff are currently likely to be employed by local government organisations, and to ensure there is clarity over terms and conditions of employment we offer NJC Pay Scales to Social Workers we appoint, rather than NHS pay-scales.
